Justin earned his Medical Degree and completed an Emergency Medicine residency at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. After completing residency he created and completed the first Emergency Medical Services Fellowship at the University of New Mexico Department of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Hazen is very familiar with the challenges and needs of pre-hospital providers. He worked as an AEMT for Albuquerque Ambulance Service before, during, and after medical school. After medical school, he was accepted into the University of New Mexico's Emergency Medicine Residency Program and, upon completion of residency, stayed on with UNMH as an EMS fellow. Upon completion of his fellowship, he stayed on as an attending and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Hazen provides both on-line and off-line medical control depending on the needs of the service.
Dr. Hazen provides medical direction for urban, rural and frontier pre-hospital medical providers. Pre-hospital services include law enforcement, fire, EMS, flight, wilderness, and disaster.
